Produced by Yorkshire Television for ITV, the series stars John Stratton, Jeremy Nicholas, Frank Mills, John Blythe, and Leslie Sands. Discontent with his home, his work and his football team, Jess Oakroyd tears up his insurance card and disappears into the night. Intent on going to Nuneaton, he instead finds himself on the ragged edges of showbusiness.
