DJ Psy, a mysterious boy, catches Mariam's attention. Robo feels threatened with the arrival of a new prospective collaborator. Robo and his gang call him the Black Mamba.

Episode 4 - Muqabala

DJ Psy has introduced Ratlam to a new kind of music that is trending with the young. Mariam is in awe of his sound and his charm. Rafi believes this is what will revive the ailing New Modern Band. He invites Psy to join the band. Robo and gang are incensed at this subterfuge. Ismail, to placate flared tempers, calls for a 'Muqabala' between the New Modern Band and DJ Psy.

Mariam is distraught when her mother is confronted with a medical emergency which lands her in hospital. It doesn't help that things with Psy are awkward. Dark family secrets are revealed. On David's return from Kerala, father and daughter have a bitter showdown. Mariam's words fail her when she needs it the most.

Mariam has to make it to the influencer conclave organized by Book My Sitara at Jabalpur. However dodging David's ploys of getting her to impress prospective grooms is harder than she thought. Meanwhile Psy struggles to fight his demons. Mariam discovers his secret and takes Robo's help to save him from a dangerous situation.

At Jabalpur, the band of misfits comes together. It's a whole new world of influencers, social media managers and algorithms. The band is off to a great start but falters when Mariam is faced with her biggest fear. The event is ruined when the band and the audience get into a violent scuffle.

The Jabalpur debacle makes Mariam famous in a way she least expects. Mariam has to choose between capitalizing on internet fame and being true to her poetry.
