He began his journey in 2014 when he passed an audition and started his training under Loen Entertainment. Hyunjae graduated from Hanlim Arts School in the Musical Department and showcased his talents in music videos for songs by Melody Day, including "Anxious" in 2014, "Color" in 2016, and "You Seem Busy" in 2017. He was introduced to the public as a Crekerz, a trainee set to debut under the name 'THE BOYZ,' on July 7, 2017. He officially made his debut on December 6, 2017.
