On 18 November 2022, Gibson was announced to be joining the cast of Doctor Who as new companion Ruby Sunday. Gibson left the show as the main companion in June of 2024. She would later reprise the role in "Joy to The World" "Lucky Day" "Wish World" & "The Reality War" in 2024 & 2025.
