She graduated from Dafeng Second Middle School (大丰区第二中学). Yang's career began in 2016 when she responded to a recruitment ad for a national idol selection by Wenlan Culture (闻澜文化). She was selected as one of the top 40 candidates and trained for a month. Although she did not place in the top 10 during the finals, she became a substitute contestant when three participants dropped out. She then joined the temporary group Qiu Qiu Baobei (球球宝贝). In 2017, the eight members of Qiu Qiu Baobei formed the idol group CH2 (CH2女团), where Yang began releasing singles, though she had not officially debuted. She later joined the limited group Rocket Girls 101 (火箭少女101) after ranking third in public voting in 2018. The group disbanded on June 23, 2020, after which Yang pursued a solo career. At the age of 12, Yang’s parents divorced, and she moved in with her father. After finishing junior high school, she worked to help support her family, taking jobs in a sewing factory and as a restaurant waitress.
