An accomplished amateur wrestler, he joined NOAH's dojo and made his professional debut on December 23, 2000, thus becoming the first wrestler to debut for the then-new company. Over the course of his NOAH career, he has become a four-time GHC Heavyweight Champion, two-time GHC National Champion, two-time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion and a record twelve-time GHC Tag Team Champion, as well as the World Heavyweight Championship in Pro Wrestling ZERO1.
