She was admitted to the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school in 1949 at the age of 17. She made her film debut in Ingmar Bergman's "Till glädje/To Joy" (1950). She starred in many movies during the 1950s, mostly as some kind of vamp. Internationally she is perhaps most known for her role in Ingmar Bergman's "Smiles of a Summer Night" (1955).
