Thayer garnered supporting roles in the comedy films Hitch, Accepted, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, as well as numerous television series, including Will & Grace, Nip/Tuck, 30 Rock, House, New Girl, Portlandia, Arrested Development, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the Adult Swim series Eagleheart and Robot Chicken. She also played the lead role of Abbey Logan on the comedy series Those Who Can't and the title role in the horror comedy film Night of the Living Deb.
