Before his career in film, Fletcher was a vaudeville performer and a member of the Madcap Players. He also worked extensively in radio, showcasing his versatile talent. Beyond acting, he is perhaps equally well-known as the co-founder, alongside his brother Carl, of Fletcher's Original State Fair Corny Dogs, a beloved and iconic food vendor at the State Fair of Texas. Fletcher was married to Minerva May Baker. He passed away on December 20, 1988, in Dallas, Texas, after a battle with cancer. His contributions to both film and Texan culinary culture have solidified his place in the state's history.
