A short time later, Larry is dead: he is found in his apartment with his skull bashed in. Clare Norman had just quarrelled with the dead man over his numerous womanizing affairs and he was also not on good terms with gossip columnist Jo Mitchell. Scotland Yard Inspector Cleaver takes up the investigation.
