Pietro, a young sculptor, returning from the war, would like to resume his activity, but he finds no inspiration. One evening, while wandering around the Roman countryside, he comes across an old castle. While he admires the ancient park, populated by statues, one statue suddenly seems to come to life and a beautiful woman throws herself into the lake below.
